The Road East, Bhutan
Cars, trucks, tourist buses, four wheel drives, small farm tractors,
horses, bulls, cows, dogs, cats, monkeys, mules, local walkers, extremely fit
(and brave) cyclists on tours and last but not least road workers ( who
keep the roads passable) are all part of the road scene in Bhutan.

Revisiting Bhutan

This month, for the first time in over ten years, I was fortunate to revisit Bhutan, this time with two family members. In the next few weeks I hope to post some photos that reflect the wonder of this unique Himalayan Kingdom and show some of the 'settings ' found in my novel.

Review copies arrived
Thrilled to receive the paperbacks. Love Kindle reading, especially for traveling but nothing better than to hold the finished product - perfect print job too!

Bhutan-Tour of the Dragon
If you are reading or have read 'Two Roads East' you will get some idea of the road journey the characters in my novel take by watching this video. A treacherous section of the road, not unlike what is shown here, is the setting for the novels' turning point - an event that changes many lives.
I've traveled the road east to Trashigang and back many times ( a two day journey each way) in a Landcruiser or Hilux, and as a keen cyclist myself I never wished that I'd brought my bike - so good luck to the competitors and I hope they get to 'take in the scenery' on the way back at least!
